Greenwich Village Loft:

This project consisted of renovating a loft apartment in a converted 1868 cast iron warehouse building. The original kitchen was a great challenge with its full height refrigerator that dominated the space. The lack of dishwasher, microwave, and adequate counter space added to the challenge. We redesigned the kitchen to feature a separate undercounter Subzero refrigerator and freezer, allowing for more counter space while maintaining the refrigerator/freezer space. A dishwasher drawer was designed in under the kitchen sink. The microwave/hood over the range frees up additional counter space. A bar counter cantilevered off of the main counter adds dining space.
The tight five foot by seven foot bathroom was similarly challenging. By designing built-in storage we were able to make the most of the space. Recessed wall shelves and a six inch deep medicine cabinet give the new bathroom an uncluttered feeling. Limestone walls add grandeur and texture to the contemporary space.
